Health Grades, November 2019

I was recommended to treat my health condition with Dr. Ramon Valderrama. When I was in front of the medical specialist, his kindness and sympathy made me forget the formality that should exist between doctor-patient. His interest in my health was sincere and direct in his conclusions. Consulting it is like taking a painkiller that makes the pain and discomfort disappear with your attention.

Dr. Valderrama was the most kind, accommodating neurologist I have ever met, and I have seen many in my 25 years of dealing with neuro problems.

Probably the most caring and compassionate doctor I have visited. I can not recommend him highly enough. He was thorough with all his exams and he took my concerns very seriously. Amazing doctor!

Very polite, respectful and thorough. He spent time answering all my questions and and went out of his way to make me feel at ease. A caring man and an intelligent specialist. His staff is very nice as well.

Forever Grateful, January 2015

“Thanks to Dr. Valderrama I am here to write this review. I had what many doctors said was a “classic migraine,” but Dr. Valderrama said it was his job to “leave no stone unturned.” He made me get an MRA/MRI a day after my visit to him and less than 24 hours after my tests he called to tell me to get (to) the ER as soon as possible because I was at high risk for a stroke–I had a carotid artery dissection. The blood flow was less than 10% on my left side. I will be forever grateful to Dr. Valderrama. He is a nice person who cares about his patients and explains things in simple terms rather than using medical jargon.”  Stac Q., January 23rd, 2015 posted on Vitals

“I found Dr. Valderrama to be very thorough in my examination. Very easy to talk to. I have seen about 4 neurologists in the past week. They only listen but order no MRI or other test to diagnose me. Dr. Valderrama ordered various MRI and neurological test(s) and did pick up on an eye problem I have that no one else pick(ed) up on. When I walk(ed) out (of) his office, I felt confident that he left no stone unturned. (I) could not ask for more. His staff Mariela and Alejandra ever so pleasant and funny to deal with. Dr. Valderrama is a people doctor.”  David V., posted on Vitals

On the Brink of Death, August 2013

“I recently had four surgeries and radiation therapy related to a benign but very old and complicated brain tumor. Within an hour or so after I had an MRI, Dr. Valderrama had his staff contact me to advise that I must return to his office ASAP to pick up my MRI so that I could take it to a neurosurgeon in New York Presbyterian Hospital. Dr. Valderrama had already contacted the neurosurgeon and advised him of the very large tumor and how critical it was for me to receive urgent medical attention. I was admitted into the hospital the same day. Had it not been for Dr. Valderrama’s concern and immediate attention, I probably would have died. I will always appreciate his care and the concern of his staff.”   Deborah A Noble, Aug. 25th, 2013, Vitals

Vitals, August 2013

“I found Dr. Valderrama to be very knowledgeable and courteous. The patient questionnaire was one of the most comprehensive that I have ever seen in any doctor’s office. It reflects on how much research he has done in neurology and also his years of experience in practicing as a specialist. He seems to be very detailed oriented which is very helpful in the complicated field of neurology. To get a correct diagnosis in neurology takes a lot of careful and intelligent thinking and I believe he delivers this. He listens to your questions and concerns and makes a great effort to answer and also to reach out to his patients. Overall the experience with the staff and follow up appointments or need for testing was very good, it felt like smooth sailing. These were people who were interested in the patient. A most memorable experience and definitely a contribution to the city of New York. Will definitely recommend Dr. Valderrama.”    Aug 12th, 2013, posted on Vitals
